VIRTUAL SERVICE PROJECT BEGINS TUES, 8/18 | $25/VOLUNTEER KIT
Join us for a virtual service project with Upcycling Colors! Upcycling Colors is a Chicago-based organization that reconditions art/school supplies for children in need. To date, UC's supply packages have helped sustain arts programs in over 20 Chicago neighborhoods and 28 different countries (all while consciously diverting thousands of pounds of usable material from landfills.) It's a total win-win, with a side of feel-good service too. We had such a great response to our Eugenie/UC service project in March, and have now adapted it for safe, at-home participation!
1. Sign up below to receive your volunteer kit (your supplies and all the tools you'll need will be packed in a banker's box and delivered contact-free to your apartment.) Your kit will include a variety of materials in need of quick and easy re-conditioning: pencils to be sharpened, markers to be tested, board games to be organized, notepads/coloring books to be trimmed of used pages, etc. For your convenience, all associated UC costs (delivery, pick-up, and final distribution) are included in your one-time sponsorship fee of $25/kit.
2. Hop onto Zoom on Tues, 8/18 at 6:00 for a quick (and optional) run-down of your supply kit and instructions. For those unable to make the call, instructions will also be sent via email.
3. And you're off! Your kit should take around two hours to finish (and about half that time for a group of two or more.) Go at your own pace and work on it whenever's convenient. UC will schedule a time to pick up your box the following week.
4. Feel wonderful and amazing that you've helped support arts programs, ecological sustainability, and children's mental and emotional well-being during these times when it's needed most.
Thank you for your support -- we're so excited to have you. Sign up below!
